Summary:

Ever’s entire family, even her dog, died in a tragic accident. Since then she is able to see ghosts, specifically her little sister, and is somewhat psychic; seeing people’s auras, knowing someone's history by touching them, and reading minds (even though she hates this). Ever has always been an outsider at her school, until she meets someone who can silence the noise in her head, his name is Damen Auguste. He is smart, gorgeous, and no doubt hiding a whole host of secrets. She doesn't know what he is but he brings forth a world of magic.

This novel is definitely comparable to the Twilight Saga in means of relationships and fitting in at school, yet has it's own aspect on the paranormal lifestyle which excludes vampires. Although I LOVE vampire fiction this is a refreshing story and promising start to Alyson's Immortals series. If teens are on a paranormal fiction kick, then they should add Evermore to the reading list as it fits right in with the other young adult paranormal books that have been hitting the shelves.

Summary:

Hanamichi Sakuragi’s got no game with girls. Maybe, they won’t go out with him because he is always picking fights with other teens? Or maybe he is just too intimidating to approach? Either way, change is coming as Hanamichi experiences love at first sight when he sees Haruko Akagi. He thinks she is in love with him too but she only wants him to play basketball and to hopefully help the Shohoku High’s ailing basketball team. Hanamichi has never played basketball before but is determined to get Haruko’s attention, even if he has to prove himself on the round ball court.

This manga series is really quite cute. It is definitely more of a boy story but teen girls might enjoy the super cute basketball manga boys (LOL)! This adorable story is about growing up and finding love while learning the game basketball. All in all this is a simplistic story, making it an easy and comfortable read, though there were some parts with mild bad language (honestly it is nothing that is not on television). The action is over-the-top, but that can be expected with manga. I would recommend this to older teen readers who are either just getting into manga or who love simple easy stories.
